There was such a positive response to my last list, NES Top 5 Must Plays, I have decided to continue my series. This week, I present to you, my SNES Top 10 Must Plays |
10. U.N. SquadronU.N. Squadron is a game that is not too well known. U.N. Squadron used a unique form of system to upgrade your ships. It boasted 3 different pilots as well as more than 5 different ships you could pilot, while using several different weapons. With a unique upgrade system, fast-paced action, and great soundtrack, U.N. Squadron takes the number 10 spot. |
9. F-ZeroF-Zero introduced the world to racing games with extremely fast vehicles. This game went on to have several games more in the series, but none were as monumental as the first. With fast vehicles, crazy A.I, and difficult race tracks, this game is number 9. |
8. Chrono TriggerAnother lesser know game, Chrono Trigger has been called by several one of the best RPG games ever made. However, there are a lot of people who have never played it. This game featured an amazing story that has the player traveling through time to save the one he loves. With a great story, amazing soundtrack, and epic battles, this game takes the number 8 spot. |
7. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven StarsOne of my personal favorites, Super Mario RPG took the familiar Mario universe and put it into a dynamic RPG. This game took Mario well outside the Mushroom Kingdom into unforgettable realms such as Nimbus Land, Booster’s Tower, and the Sunken Ship, meeting characters along the way like Mallow, Geno, and Culex. With an amazing story, fantastic battle system, and unforgettable characters, this game is number 7. |
6. Star FoxThis was the beginning of the famous Star Fox series. One of the best space shooters of the day. It had fast-paced action with pseudo 3D graphics. With great gameplay, story and graphics this game is number 6. |
5. Super MetroidAn amazing successor to the hit for the NES. This took the game farther then most gamers thought was capable back then. With amazing bosses, great level design, and fantastic gameplay this game takes number 5. |
4. Kirby Super StarThis game was amazing, not only was it fun but it had more than 7 games packed into it. Each game had its own scenario that the player had to go through making the player have to change mindsets for each game. From saving the solar system to treasure hunting, this game had it all. With fun games, amazing co-op, and unforgettable soundtrack this game takes the number 4 spot. |
3. Donkey Kong CountryOne of the first of its kind, the Donkey Kong series was liked by all. This game took the players through the world that Donkey Kong knew. Along the way we met characters and places of all sorts. With amazing level design, great gameplay, and an enormous cast of characters and abilities, this game takes the number 3 spot. |
2. Super Mario WorldEveryone must knew this one was in here. If you did not, you need to go get it right now. This game took the Mario universe even further than it already was. It brought in many elements and reintroduced many others like the yoshis and koopa kids. With amazing levels, great new abilities, and outstanding gameplay, this game takes the number 2 spot. |
1. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the PastArguably one of the best SNES games, this is a must play. This took the already amazing Legend of Zelda series, and made it even better. It gave the character more story, more items, better dungeons, and even more characters. With all that made this game great, this is the most important game on the SNES that everyone should play at least once. |
